My BAD Experience with Delphi 2005
Hello,
Since Delphi 1 I'm a Delphi Lover. I've programmed as a proffessional developer with delphi 3 and for a long time with Delphi 5. It was very stable, a great IDE and very helpfull to create applications. Since a few months I work with Delphi 2005 and I have to say, it works very SH*T. I did the 2 updates and still I've many problems. One of the main problem now is that the copy-paste functionallity doesn't work anymore, only in the source-editor itself. So, I can not copy a component and paste it to another form and also copy a text from the object-inspector and paste it in the source editor does not work anymore. This makes developing very hard now. Also I got a lot of error messages from the IDE, like when installing components or closing Delphi. The positions of the forms and desktop doesn't save anymore, so every time restarting a project I've to setup the desktop again. I remember that I also had this copy-past and saving environment problem way back in Delphi 3 or so and I don't know anymore if this was solved by an update. What are your experience with Delphi 2005? Are these problems as above known to Delphi users on this forum and is there maybe a solution? Specially the copy-past of components is very bad when it doesn't function. Is there a good Borland place to drop these kind of problems? Greets, A Sad Delphi Lover. |

Re: My BAD Experience with Delphi 2005
Hi,
i have also no problem with copy & paste in D2005 incl Upd2. But i use only the win32 part from D2005. Itīs realy tru that D2005 is buggy, still after applying all the updates  . |
Re: My BAD Experience with Delphi 2005
The auto-save of the desktop can be switched off, look in your preferences.

Re: My BAD Experience with Delphi 2005
Hello,
I'm already a bit happier :thumb: I found in the Borland Quality Central Database (report 1736) a similar problem and the copy paste problem has something to do with DualScreen system. (thats what I have) and there is a good workaround for it. The problem of not saving the desktop remains, but I can life with that. The save desktop option is ofcourse ON.
