Tja, sendmail ist allerdings veraltet und überaus kompliziert. Dies belegt auch folgende Studie:

Ich möchte anmerken, das diese Aufstellung noch von 2001 datiert.

Übrigens, Jack: Sendmail selber sagt, 7 von 10 setzen Sendmail ein. Das macht 70%, keine 80%. Und das sind wohlgemerkt kommerzielle Versionen, die auch von der Firma supported werden.

Nahezu alle Mailserver von LUG's betreiben QMail / Courier, und dies ist auch der derzeit (aus Sicherheitsgründen) zu empfehlende Weg. Sendmail hat zu viele ungefixte exploits.
