CodeSite is a very good tool to do so. My program is an open source, freeware, CodeSite clone. Maybe not as powerful as CodeSite, but it has all the features you need to have your application log anything you like. It is not a trojan: it is a log facility (and as such, I always make my users aware of what is being logged and why I do that).
