It's the same technique that Skype is using.

There is still a little chance left:
Some programs from the Sysinternals-Suite show you to which address and port a application is having a network connection. If the ip address is the same as your testing computer than TeamViewer is using the same thechnique as Skype.
I would recommend using this technique 'cause you need much less server capacity.
